Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway 15 inch

There has been a miniature railway on this site in Cleethorpes since 1948 but the current configuration opened in 1971 to the gauge of 14 ¼ inches, being standardised to 15 inches in 1993. The railways central station is Lakeside, with trains travelling in two directions for a mile, either towards Kingsway Station near Cleethorpes town and seafront, or Humberston Station, situated at the back of Thorpe Park Caravan Park and near the Meredian Line. This extension was built in 2006 and features views of the Humber Estuary. Lakeside Station is also home to the smallest pub on the planet 'The Signal Box Inn'. When originally opened, a pair of Severn Lamb Rio Grande locomotives were used but since private ownership, a variety of historic steam and diesel locomotives are used. This includes Basset Lowke Little Giant 'Mighty Atom', Kerr Stuart 'Bonnie Dundee' and Sandy River Replica No.24.
