17 Locos in Steam planned for Eastleigh Lakeside Spring Gala

The dual gauge Eastleigh Lakeside Steam Railway will be holding its annual Spring Gala on Sunday 22nd March starting at 10.00am.
The 7.25"/10.25" line, which first opened in 1992, has quickly developed over the years, and now runs for just under 1.25" miles through the grounds of Eastleigh Lakeside Country Park.
At the gala, the railway hopes to have at least 17 locomotives in steam, from their extensive homefleet.
This will include triple heading from the historic Bullock locomotives which have been lovingly restored, and are now 226 years old combined!
Double heading is a 10.25" Lord Nelson built by engineer Jesse Moody with Ernest Henry
Upton, which was built by G&SLE for use on
the original 10.25" line at Dudley Zoo.
Another possible double header combination is
the lines new 3 cylinder Schools Blundells
with a 7.25" 4 cylinder Lord Nelson also built by
Jesse Moody.
An event which is not to be missed. Normal fares apply.
