Hemsworth Water Park Miniature Railway 7 ¼ inch

The railway first opened in 1993, and operates in the attraction Playworld, which is situated in a corner of the Hemsworth Water Park. Built with the help of the Wakefield Model Engineer Society, the line runs for 300 yards, and boasts a three-road engine shed, turntable, 3 level crossings and a 1 in 80 gradient. Trains were originally pulled by Tinkerbell Lucy, but more recently, a pair of steam outline battery locomotives built by Jim Pinder of Pugneys Light Railway have been used.
