Kerr's Miniature Railway 10 ¼ inch

Scotland's oldest miniature railway ran its first train at Arbroath in 1935, in its 7 gauge format. Since then, nearly two million people have travelled along the quarter mile track on the seafront. Trains run from West Links Station, down an almost straight track through a tunnel until Hospitalfield Halt is reached, where trains reverse. The line started by Matthew Kerr Snr, was brought up to its current high standard by the late Matthew Kerr Jnr who tookover during the 1970ss, upgrading buildings and rolling stock. Jill Kerr, wife of the late Matthew Kerr Jnr, and son John, now run the railway. Trains are steam hauled (weather & staff permitting) on Sundays and diesels at other times.
