Porterswick Junction Light Railway 7 ¼ inch

This line forms part of the attractions at the Hidden Valley Discovery Park near Launceston. The Railway started as a straight up and back line in 2002. In 2003, it was extended to make a complete loop. A large amount of excavations were carried out to ensure the new track was laid as level as possible. The completed railway line now has two bridges that go over it, one brick arched, and a wooden bridge. An engine shed, complete with inspection pit houses workshop equipment and the two resident locomotives, a Roanoke and Romulus style locomotive. There are two platforms, a halt halfway around a signal box. The railway circles a woodland plantation and is approx 1/2 mile in length. A 110 feet tunnel was added in 2010 and a new steam locomotive 'William'
