Sherwood Forest Railway 15 inch
The Sherwood Forest Railway first opened in 2000. The building of the line commenced in the winter of 1999/2000 after the Colley family had purchased two steam locomotives 'Pet' and 'Smokey Joe' from Keith Hardy (the builder of both).
The line originally ran in to a nearby sheep field which was situated on the right of the station. However the following year, the line was slightly altered and now ran down a slight gradient, past pig paddocks to a temporary halt. Since the line has been gradually extended and now runs from main station Loxley Station to Welldale Station, a distance of approxmiately 800 yards. There are plans to extend the railway furthur round the farm park in the future.
Trains are usually steam hauled, by 'Pet' and 'Smokey Joe', however two other engines 'Anne' and 'Lottie' are occasionally used.
