Twycross Zoo Miniature Railway 10 ¼ inch

The Twycross Zoo Miniature Railway first opened in 1969. It was originally a 7¼ inch gauge line and was regauged to 12 inch in 1974. In 1982 when the Rio Grande and rolling stock arrived, the line was regauged to 10 inch gauge. The line is a 650 yard circuit which runs over the top of its self, and is situated in the amusements area of the zoo. Trains are operated by a Severn Lamb Rio Grande steam outline which hauls canopied carriages.
