Beale Park Railway 10 ¼ inch

The railway first opened in 1979, as a 7 ¼ inch gauge railway. The line was regauged to its present form in 1994. Trains depart from Howard’s Halt and run round the west loop anticlockwise, then run round the east loop clockwise. There are three locomotives, 'John-Remy' an Exmoor built steam locomotive, originally 12 ¼ inch gauge, ex Shillingstone Light Railway diesel engine 'Sir Humphrey Davy' and newly built 'Elli Che' an American Amtrak F40PH outline. There is an attractive station and ticket office on site.
