Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway 15 inch

This very popular seaside railway opened in 1971 as a 14 ½ inch gauge railway but has recently been regauged to 15inch gauge. Trains run from Lakeside station which is near the theme park Pleasure Island up a hill, then past the shed area. It then runs alongside the sea wall and over a 40yd viaduct to Kingsway station which is next to the Leisure Centre. Recently the line has been extended nearer to Pleasure Island, and now a spur from Lakeside runs down the coast to North Sea Lane Station. The railway used to be operated by a pair of Severn lamb locomotives but now steam trains are regular. Sian and Katie used to be here, but they have moved to Windmill Animal Farm. It is also worth mentioning that recently they acquired the Sutton Miniature Railway rolling stock which are now housed in a specially built museum/shed and also run on the railway frequently.
