Ferry Meadows Railway 10 ¼ inch

The Ferry Meadows Railway first opened in 1979 and ever since has provided as useful service for tourists, as well as a tourist attraction in its own right. Trains commence at Ham Lane Station which is where the stock shed and turntable are situated. Leaving Ham Lane, the train passes a play area and the swings northward past Lynch Lake. The end of the journey is at Gunwade Lake Station, where the train runs round and returns on its journey to Ham Lane. Trains are pulled by an Alan Keef Steam Outline loocmotive called 'Charles'. Locomotives that have previously operated here include a Dove built 4-6-4 called 'Henry' and a 0-4-0ST called 'Ivor'. These have both moved elsehwhere. The railway is close to Ferry Meadows Station on the standard gauge Nene Valley Railway.
