Grosvenor Park Miniature Railway 7 ¼ inch
The Grosvenor Park Miniature Railway first opened in 1996 to commemorate the centenary of the Duke of Westminster's railway at nearby Eaton Hall. The line was opened and first operated by Robin Butterell but was taken overby three members. The railway was operated by a Roger Greatrex petrol engine and a steam engine called ‘Tinker’ but these were moved away when the owners sold the railway in 1999. Stephen Hardin the present railway owner took over and used a second hand diesel and since has gone from strength to strength purchasing yet more and more locomotives and rolling stock. The line runs for ¼ mile in a large circle which en route you travel over a bridge and circle a duck pond. The line is operated using any one of the two petrol locomotives and the Thomas II steam loco (on Summer Sundays) hauling up to four sit astride coaches. Occasionally they run the Romulus steam loco because of its light pulling power.
