Hall Leys Park Railway 9 ½ inch

The Hall Leys Park Railway first opened in 1948. It has the unusual gauge of 9 ½ inch gauge and is one of only four miniature railways of this gauge in the country. The line is a simple back and forth run with one station and a two road engine shed. Its runs alongside the River Derwent. Trains are pulled by the diesel ‘Little David’ which has been here since 1974 replacing the lines steam engines
