Markeaton Park Light Railway 15 inch
This railway opened in 1989, but when taken over by John and Jane Bull in 1995, it was greatly improved and extended. Trains run from the main car park, through the park and over two major bridges to a second terminus adjacent to the play area at Mundy Halt. Most services are pulled by ‘Markeaton Lady’ which is a fantastic steam locomotive built by the Exmoor Steam Railway. There is also a deltic diesel which usually operates the first train of the day, whilst the petrol engine is currently in store. Rolling stock consists of three luxurious coaches also built by Tony Stirland at Exmoor.
