South Garden Miniature Railway 7 ¼ inch

The South Garden Miniature Railway is located in the South Yard of the National Railway Museum. It runs from the station which you get to via a signal box which encloses ‘Lady Margaret’. The train which is head by ‘John’ and ‘Helen’ leaves the station and pulls you past the Shed/Container to the back of the Learn Interactive Centre. The train then runs back on its original route through the station. After the station it passes through a ‘live’ willow tunnel and over a pond to reach a small station. The train runs back again to the original station in the middle. There was another railway situated at the NRM but this closed in 1995. Steam engines visit here occasionally, but main haulage is from ‘John’ and ‘Helen’ built by Roger Greatrex.
