South Garden Miniature Railway 7 ¼ inch

The South Garden Miniature Railway is located in the South Yard of the National Railway Museum. Trains which are pulled by a Mardyke deltic, using a mixture of sit astride and sit-in carriages pass through a ‘live’ willow tunnel and over a pond on a simple 140 yard end to end line, running round at each end. The line had a simpler push-pull predecesor which was operated mainly by a Maxitrak locomotive. Steam locomotives visit here occasionally. The NRM also has various miniature locomotives on display including Basset Lowke 15" gauge 'Little Giant'.
