Twycross Zoo Miniature Railway 10 ¼ inch

The Twycross Zoo Miniature Railway first opened in 1969. It was originally a 7¼ inch gauge line and was regauged to 12 inch in 1974. In 1982 when the Rio Grande and rolling stock arrived, the line was regauged to 10 ¼ inch gauge. The line is a 650 yard circuit which runs over the top of its self, and is situated in the amusements area of the zoo. Trains are operated by a Severn Lamb Rio Grande steam outline which pulls open-canopied carriages.
